A Trio of men are revving up their engines ready to fire towards the start of a world famous rally.
Richard Frost and Malcolm Goodwin, from the F Cross and Son Volkswagen dealership, and John Cooper from the John Cooper Towbar Centre, have all signed up to take part in the famous Cannonball Rally, set to start in September. The rally, now in its fifth year, sees hundreds of cars, driven by celebrities and car enthusiasts, travel through several European countries, each hoping to win the coveted Cannonball 8000 award.
Mr Frost (31), from Messingham, explained how they got involved with the rally.
He said: "Myself and John got together and spoke to my work to see if it was possible to have a car to use in the rally.
"They gave us a VW Golf R32 which we could use, and then one of the company directors, Malcolm Goodwin, got involved and he is part of the team as well."
The idea to take part in the rally was initially for fun, but the team soon realised they would have to work hard to make the event.
Mr Frost added: "It all started as a bit of fun.
"But then when we looked into it we realised it was going to cost quite a lot of money to take part.
"So we appealed to businesses to sponsor the rally, and we have put their logos onto the car."
As there was some money left over from the various sponsors, it was decided to use the rally to raise money as well.
"Any money left over from the sponsors has been put to charity," Mr Frost said.
"It's killing two birds with one stone, we have raised the money to take part in the rally, and also to give money to charity as well."
Any money raised from the rally will be donated to Lindsey Lodge Hospice on Burringham Road.
And the trio are looking forward to the start of the rally in a month's time.
Mr Frost said: "It's going to be an experience, and one which we probably won't get the chance to do again.
"And we get to raise money for charity too, which is a bonus."
The men will travel to London on September 13 for a party at a capital nightspot, before making their way to Earls Court the following day for the start of the run.
At midday all the cars will leave London and head towards Folkestone to catch the Eurotunnel to France, before making their way to Brussels.
All the drivers will spend the night in Brussels, before setting off on Saturday 15 to make their way towards the amazing location of Prague Castle.
The will spend another evening there before setting off on Sunday 16 towards the finishing point and a black tie event at the Regent Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb.
